My name is Claire McCullough, and I am a French student at the University of Rhode Island (URI). I have always been interested in my MS French Heritage and the unique Mississippi Gulf Coast French dialect that was spoken by my relatives.
As part of my French studies at URI, I am conducting an oral history research project on the Mississippi Gulf Coast French dialect. I am looking to interview anyone who has memories, writings, or recordings of Mississippi French being spoken in their home or community.
